Tonight’s episode (January 21) began with the attorneys delivering their closing statements to the jury, while Lauren watched baby Frankie in the hospital.
Dee Dee Bailey came to see Lauren and said the jury couldn’t reach an agreement, which made her worried that was a bad sign.

“I’m going to jail, aren’t I?” Lauren said, not convinced things were still going either way. “What if I can’t take care [Frankie] Anymore?
“Go face this, Lauren,” Dee-Dee encouraged. “Be strong.”
In the end, Lauren returned to court to hear her fate and burst into tears when she heard she had been found not guilty Joel Dearing was killed.

Now free, Lauren returns to the hospital with Max, and they embrace. “It’s over,” she said.
Their relief is short-lived when Joel’s father Gus shows up and tries to take Frankie away, saying he won’t let his grandson raise a murderer.
She refused, saying, “I’m tired of people like you looking down their noses at people like me.” “I won’t let you do the same to my son. You can try to take Franky if you want. But you won’t have to kill me first.”
She got her baby back and asked Gus out, and Max told her she was great.
